Katana is a beautiful, two year old black lab mix who had a rough start at life, but is now looking for her forever home. She is spayed and up to date on all shots. Before coming to Rudy's, Katana had not been socialized much with other people or dogs. Katana continues to have daily anxiety, but has improved greatly with consistency and medication. Katana does not appear to have any formal training but is primarily housebroken. Katana will soon begin training classes. Katana has gotten along well with the other two labs in our house and when she's feeling brave, she'll engage in a little play! Katana walks extremely well on a leash and seems to particularly enjoy long walks with our other dogs. While Katana has been adjusting to her foster home, we have kept her on a leash at all times. Because of her anxiety, she has shown tendencies to run from things that scare her. Preference will be given to forever homes with a safe and secure fenced yard. Katana does very well out of her crate during the day and seems to be more comfortable sleeping in a crate overnight (although she does like to cuddle next to you before bedtime!) She is very calm in her crate and does not bark. Katana is a very sweet girl who needs a family that can provide a lot of patience and encouragement in a calm environment. For approved homes, dogs over 6 months of age are available for our foster to adopt program. The foster to adopt option is not available to puppies under 6 months of age. Adoption fess as of 7/1/14: Puppies under 6 months: $400 + $100 Spay/Neuter Deposit Puppies 6 months 1 year: $350 Dogs 1-7 years: $300 Dogs over 7 years or with serious handicaps: $200 A larger adoption donation will be asked for purebred dogs of other breeds (not lab or lab mix.) Since we are a volunteer organization funded entirely by contributions, we count on your continuing support as well as your adoption fees to help defray the costs of caring for our foster dogs. We are delighted to accept any amounts over these minimum fees to help other dogs in our care. If you can't help with a donation of money we are happy to have you help with your time.
